CAD Skills.

Throughout my degree, I have developed a range of CAD skills. Other than building my designs in SolidWorks, I have explored and used other CAD methods to enhance my knowledge of manufacturing and analysis techniques.

FEA Analysis.

For my Outside Mug project, I had to conduct a detailed FEA analysis of the injection moulded part. This involved drop tests, static tests and thermal tests. All of these techniques enabled me to engage with my mug design in greater technical depth.

 

The amount the mug design could withstand under prolonged worse-case scenario constraints gave me essential insight into the chosen material and the durability of the design.

Sheet Metal.

When given a brief asking to design a set of metal outside furniture, the sheet metal features in SolidWorks were essential.

Tools such as building weldments and building logos with forming tools were used.

Affinity Rendering.

Affinity is another software that I have developed my skills in throughout my degree. I have used it to present mood boards and present design work, however another skill of note that I have used this software for is rendering
